Experiences in Building A Telescope The Optics - Jim Vincent

Jim gave a fascinating talk on how to grind mirrors and how he made the 20" mirror for his home made Dobsonian telescope.

Observing Night

Tonight the skies were clear and it was a rare chance to do some observing. It was very cold and it eventually clouded over, but some good sights were seen.

Christmas Social

Tonight was Christmas Party time. Ted and Eileen put on the best spread yet. There was all the usual stuff, but it seemed to be a tad more up market. So they did very well. Mary chipped in by bringing some lovely sausage rolls and mince pies (homemade of course), George came with a very splendid chocolate confection prepared by the ladies of his family and Phil provided a large tin of sweets like mini bars. Others chipped in with bits and pieces. Plenty of us turned up to indulge ourselves so a good time was had by all.

Happy Christmas indeed!!!
