Our first Open Night of 2012 on was on Saturday 3rd March.
Our usual Hadleigh Castle Country Park venue was blessed with a clear night so we enthralled about 400 people with the delights of the night sky.
We had Mars in the East and a splendid pairing of Jupiter and Venus in the West for the entire period.
The Moon projection feature with audience participation talks about the moon was well received with kids being either the Moon or the Sun to explain why they do what they do.
The Moon imaging scope, which allowed folk to take their own images of the Moon and have them emailed to them, got off to a shaky start but was soon a tremendous draw.
The rest of the team had a task coping with the relentless queues but they did well. Judging by the comments as folk left they did very well.
The rest of our Open Nights in 2012 were cancelled due to bad weather.
